Enterprise Intelligence Institute Launches at Founding Assembly, Establishing a New Profession
NEW YORK, September 19, 2026 β The Enterprise Intelligence Institute (EII) was formally established yesterday at its inaugural Founding Assembly on September 18, 2026, marking the founding of a new professional discipline: Enterprise Intelligence.
The Founding Assembly convened the inaugural cohort of practitioners, researchers, and leaders to formally establish the Institute, constitute its governing bodies, and inaugurate its research agenda and working groups.
"The Age of Intelligence is not eliminating the need for the professional β it is making the boundaries, competencies, evidence, authority, and accountability of the professional more important," said the Institute's founding leadership. "September 18 marks the beginning of the institution that intends to help advance that work."
The Assembly's principal acts included:
β’ Signing of the Founding Declaration (IEI-001) β the act of establishment naming the discipline of Enterprise Intelligence, stating its purpose, and committing the Institute to independence, evidence, and distinction.
β’ Constitution of the Founding Council (IEI-004) β the installation of the advisory body that shapes the direction of the profession and standards.
β’ Recognition of Founding Fellows (IEI-005) β the recognition of foundational contributors to the establishment of the discipline. Founding Fellow designation is by invitation only and is never purchasable.
β’ Inauguration of the Research Agenda (IEI-R01) β the launch of the Institute's research programs in measurement science, organizational pilots, and peer-reviewed publication.
β’ Launch of Three Inaugural Working Groups β WG-100, WG-400, and WG-600, with charter presentations and participation calls.
The Assembly also previewed the Enterprise Intelligence Summit, the discipline's annual flagship event.
The Founding Assembly was moderated by Elijah John Bowdre and Keyonna L. Taylor, with panelists Beatrice Louissaint and Diana MrouΓ©. Michael John Green addressed the founding cohort.
Following the Assembly, the Founding Assembly recap page is preserved as a permanent institutional record β featuring founding photographs, a highlights video, the signed Declaration, the founding roster, and an event recap.
